Historical Data Applications with DataNet ENTERPRISE

Be Proactive! DataNet Enterprise makes it easy to catch problems early and prevent little issues from becoming big problems later. Collect data from multiple sources or date ranges for comparison. Comparing historical data can alert you to changes to determine what efforts have worked and what hasn't. These measures will improve productivity, quality, and profitability.

With DataNet Enterprise, you can schedule custom reports and graphs to automatically generate. Once a report/graph has been created, DataNet Enterprise can be configured to email those reports/graphs to those who need the information on a regular basis.  Data analysis is critical in many areas, including, but not limited to the following examples: compliance, root cause analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Compliance  -  Product Traceability

To comply with industry regulations, it is often necessary to be able to track a product that has moved through each stage, starting with sales orders all the way down the line to shipping.  This may require tapping into distributed data from multiple database systems. This is applicable to a broad range of products, from products manufactured on site based on recipes,  to boxes moving through a distribution warehouse for shipping.

Root Cause Analysis  -  Preventative Maintenance

Pinpoint trends and conditions for specific equipment in order to identify  problems before it's too late.  For instance, based on analysis of past performance it could be determined that a piece of equipment will fail when it has been running under certain conditions, such as a certain combination of time and temperature.  Once this root cause analysis has been performed with the aid of reports and graphs, a real-time alert can be set up to warn of impending conditions (see  Real-Time Applications page)

Key Performance Indicators - Down Time

Set performance targets for overall business as a whole, as well as for individual sites and teams. KPIs can be tracked over time and analyzed to identify goals and motivate employees. The following example of down time could affect the following areas:

  • Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE)

  • Production Targets

  • Raw material Yields and financial impacts
