DataWorx
Standard fits your organizational needs.
DataWorx
Standard is an inexpensive and easy-to-use software line that enables
basic data-collection and storage. DataWorx
Standard packages easily connect Ethernet-enabled PLCs to standalone PCs
or network servers for simple data acquisition and archiving. Any PC or
server on the network can collect valuable data from industrial devices
without the need for special programming or expensive third-party
applications. Installation and setup is quick and easy.
Unlike
many other data-collection applications, DataWorx Standard provides a
simple and specific solution for those interested in basic data
collection and storage. With DataWorx Standard, you pay only for what
you need. Other applications force you to pay for more than what you
really want, and added features often complicate the process, making
speed and simplicity impossible. DataWorx
Standard is easy, affordable and flexible. The Standard software is
available in several different versions, to fit within any existing
architecture.
DataWorx
Server
The
DataWorx software packages include a Server application that runs as a
Microsoft Windows service. The Server is capable of collecting an
unlimited amount of data from an unlimited number of devices. It runs on
its own whether or not anyone is logged-in on the Server PC.

Sample
screen: The DataWorx Server screen shows the status of the service.
The user
does not need to be present to manually start the program each time the
computer is restarted – DataWorx will automatically start data logging
and take full control over the process. DataWorx is equipped with an
easy-to-use graphical interface, which can be used to start, stop or
pause services. It also provides a very simple way to install and
uninstall the service. The DataWorx Server
stores the data it collects into comma-delimited or tab-delimited text
files on your PC.

Standard.
The
DataWorx Server has a useful Diagnostic Error Log window available for
on-the-spot troubleshooting. The Error Log window shows the status of
the Server and indicates whether the Server is started, stopped or
paused. It also communicates whether or not the data being received from
the device matches the Server configuration.

Standard. The Error Log allows you to diagnose problems instantly and
view real-time events. The Error Log window can be accessed from the
Server PC or from the DataWorx Monitor application.
DataWorx
Monitor
The
DataWorx software packages also include a Monitor application that
configures the Server’s file-creation cycle and device listings.

Sample
Screen: The DataWorx Monitor screen shows a list of configured devices
and their status, as well as the status of the DataWorx Server and Monitor
applications.
Using
the Monitor application, users can configure the Server to log data to
the Server’s hard drive in a comma-delimited or tab-delimited text file. A
date/time stamp and file alias also can be included for each data item
sent. From the Monitor application, the Server also can be configured to
archive the logged files into a ZIP file. Once archived, files can be
deleted from the log automatically, according to parameters set by the user.
Archiving and deleting can occur daily, monthly or yearly as needed.
Sample
Screen: The Device Configuration screen can be accessed from the
DataWorx Monitor application. The Device Configuration screen allows the
user to control device listings, file-creation cycles, view options, and
archiving and deleting.
The
Monitor allows the user to view and archive the text files that are
stored on the Server. Files can be opened or viewed in Notepad, Excel,
or another program of choice. The Monitor is able to run conveniently
from any PC that is networked to the Server. This allows the user to
retrieve important industrial data, even without having physical access to the
Server or plant devices.

Sample
Screen: The Report menu is one of the DataWorx Monitor's most useful
features. It allows the user to view, print and save the files that are
generated and stored by the Server - even without having physical access
to the Server or the industrial devices.
Report-by-exception
technology eases network traffic.
DataWorx
Standard software packages use report-by-exception data logging, instead
of the traditional polling method. This unique report-by-exception
technology allows direct communication between industrial devices and the computing
system. It gives the PLC complete control over data logging and storage,
and places it as a user on the network, so it will send information only
when needed. Report by exception greatly reduces the amount of network
traffic in comparison to the continuous polling method, which is used by
many other data-collection applications.
